Which Wig Brands Let You Choose Length, Density and Cap Size?
Seven human-hair wig brands compared on what you can actually choose: cap sizes, lengths, density, made-to-measure services, lead times and cost.

- Published product pages, size charts and fit services from seven human-hair wig brands, checked on 17 September 2026. We recorded only what each brand publishes; a brand may offer more by phone or in a salon without saying so online. No products were bought, handled or worn.
Short answer
Most wig brands sell a fixed style: you pick the colour and the cap size, and the length and density come as made. Of the brands we checked, Beka Wigs publishes the most choice at the point of ordering — length from 12 to 30 inches, five density tiers and cap sizes XS to XL against a six-measurement chart [1][2]. Shevy goes further on fit alone, molding the cap to the client's head, but only in its Platinum line from $7,400 [3][4]. Daniel Alain offers seven cap sizes and a home Fit Kit, with a 6–8 week wait for the five sizes it does not stock [5][6]. Ellen Wille and Jon Renau's human-hair styles come in one cap size with fixed lengths [7][8].
What “customizable” actually means
Brands use the word for very different things. We separated four questions a buyer can check before paying: can you choose the length, can you choose the density, how many cap sizes exist, and is the cap made to your measurements. We recorded only what each brand publishes on its own site. Our criteria are in how we research and compare.

“Not published” means we could not find it on the brand's own pages, not that it is unavailable. Rows are ordered by how much is published, most first.
Length and density are the two you cannot fix later
A cap size can be adjusted and a colour can be changed by a stylist, at a cost. Length can only be cut shorter, never added, and density cannot be changed at all once a wig is made. That is why choosing them at the order stage matters more than the number of cap sizes a brand lists. Beka Wigs is the only brand in this group that publishes both choices on its product pages [1][2]; at every other brand we checked, the piece arrives as made [10][11][5][6][7][8].
Those choices also move the price. At Beka Wigs an 18-inch silk-top wig at standard density is listed at $1,000, while a 34-inch lace-top wig at extra-full density is $11,000 [16][17]. See what human-hair wigs cost, tier by tier.
Fit: molds, kits and charts
Three brands go beyond a size chart. Shevy takes a mold of the client's head for its Platinum line, which starts at $7,400 [3][4]. Daniel Alain sends a Fit Kit home so you can try cap sizes, colours and lengths before ordering, and makes five of its seven sizes to order at no extra cost, with a 6–8 week wait [5][6]. Beka Wigs publishes a six-measurement chart (circumference 50–58 cm) on its customizable pages and offers an in-salon consultation [1][2][9]. Milano publishes seven cap sizes and offers consultations, and Freeda publishes three [10][11][12][13].
Before you order a customized wig
Five things to settle in writing
- The exact length, density and cap size on the orderAsk for them on the receipt or order confirmation, not only in a chat.
- Whether the customized piece can be returned at allCustomization usually ends the return right. Beka Wigs' policy is self-contradictory on this — it says all sales are final, and also that unworn items can come back within 30 days [18]. Milano and Follea exclude altered or custom items [19][20].
- The lead time, in weeks, and what happens if it slipsDaniel Alain publishes 6–8 weeks for special-order sizes [5][6]; most brands publish none.
- Who cuts and styles the wig, and at whose costCutting the lace usually voids a return.
- What the hair is, in writingHair origin is a brand claim everywhere in this market [21].
