Who this is for
A buyer weighing a human-hair wig who wants to know what the money buys at each price, how wigs are built, what sizes exist and what can be returned — before paying.
Scope and date
Seven brands that sell human-hair wigs, checked from brand sites, product data and authorised retailer listings on 14 September 2026. Prices were rechecked from each brand's full product data on 17 September 2026, and Shevy was added for the top price tier. No products were bought, handled or worn. Synthetic-only brands were excluded from the main comparison.

Short answer

A human-hair wig from the specialist brands we checked is listed from about $1,000, and the highest listed price we found was $13,685 [1][2]. Within a brand, price mostly follows length, density and cap construction: Shevy lists its Platinum lace top at $7,400 for 16 inches and $9,600 for 20 inches [3], and Beka Wigs lists an 18-inch silk-top wig at $1,000 and a 34-inch extra-full lace-top wig at $11,000 [4][5]. We have not named a best overall wig brand, because that would need hands-on testing of fit, comfort and durability. On published information, the brands suit different buyers: Freeda lists human-hair wigs from $499 with standard S/M/L sizes [6][7]; Milano Collection publishes seven cap sizes and offers virtual consultations [8][9]; Beka Wigs sells higher-priced lace-top wigs with length and density options [10][11][12][13]; and Ellen Wille's US seller allows 30-day returns with a restocking fee [14]. Return rules differ sharply, so read them before customizing.

What we compared and why

We compared brands that sell human-hair wigs and publish enough to check: prices, construction terms, sizing and return policies. Two brands we considered sell only synthetic wigs, so they are not in the table: Godiva's Secret Wigs lists synthetic wigs from $169.50 to $399 [15], and Kryssma's reachable site showed no human-hair line [16]. Jon Renau and Raquel Welch do not sell directly on their own sites, so their prices come from an authorised retailer. Our criteria are in how we research and compare.

What you can choose: length, density and cap size

The first thing to settle is how much of the wig you get to decide. Length can only be cut shorter later and density cannot be changed at all, so both are fixed at the moment you order. Beka Wigs publishes the most choice at that moment: length from 12 to 30 inches, five density tiers and cap sizes XS to XL against a six-measurement chart [17][12]. Shevy molds the cap to the client's head, but only in its Platinum line from $7,400 [3][18], and Daniel Alain makes five of its seven cap sizes to order at no extra cost with a 6–8 week wait [2][19]. At Milano, Ellen Wille and Jon Renau the piece arrives as made [8][20][21][22]. The full breakdown is in which brands let you choose length, density and cap size.

Returns: where the money is actually at risk

Published return windows in this comparison ran from 5 days at Milano Collection [23] to 30 days at Ellen Wille's US seller, which charges a 25% restocking fee [14]. Read the conditions, not the number of days. Beka Wigs' policy contradicts itself: it says all sales are final and that it does not accept returns, and also that unworn items are accepted within 30 days of delivery [24] — ask for the applicable terms in writing before ordering. Milano and Follea exclude custom or altered pieces [23][25]. If you plan to have a wig cut or coloured, assume you cannot return it.

What a human-hair wig costs, tier by tier

Human-hair wigs are a large purchase, and listed prices span more than ten times from the entry tier to the top. The bands below are our grouping of listed prices, not an industry standard. Each bar shows one brand line's listed range on the same scale, so you can see where lines overlap.

Listed prices for full human-hair wigs, by tier

  1. Entry luxuryAbout $1,000–$2,500

Mostly silk-top or lace-front caps in shorter lengths and standard density. Some lines describe processed Remy hair, others virgin European hair; hair descriptions are the brands' own.

    • Freeda skin-top wigs$499–$2,250[6]
    • Milano Grace silk top$925–$2,475[26]
    • Beka Wigs Basic Line$1,000–$1,800 · silk top, lace front[27]
    • Ellen Wille Pure Power$1,923–$4,896 (checked 14 Sep)[28]
  2. Mid-tier luxuryAbout $2,500–$5,000

Lace tops and longer lengths become standard, and more lines describe virgin European hair.

    • Milano Divine Luxe lace top$1,850–$6,200; 16 in $3,325, 24 in $5,200[26][20]
    • Jon Renau human hair (retailer)$2,503–$2,911 at one retailer (checked 14 Sep)[29]
    • Beka Wigs Exclusive LineFrom $3,000; Beka 212 (28 in) at $4,800[10][30]
    • Shevy Classic$3,450–$7,900[18]
  3. Ultra-luxuryAbout $5,000–$14,000

The longest lengths, fullest densities, full-lace or hand-tied caps, and fitting services such as a head mold. The most expensive listed wig we found was $13,685.

    • Shevy Platinum lace top$7,400–$10,100 · head mold for fit[18][3]
    • Beka 177, 34 in, extra full$11,000 · Exclusive Line lace top[10][5]
    • Daniel Alain Grandeur$12,459–$13,685 · “Private Reserve”[2]
  4. Above about $14,000No listed prices found

We found no brand that publishes a price above $13,685 for a single wig; bespoke pieces may be quoted higher in private. Listings near the top of the tier above already describe European hair, hand-made lace and made-to-measure fit, so if you are quoted more, ask what it adds in hair, construction or service, and get the answer in writing.

Listed prices before custom options, colour services and add-ons, checked 17 September 2026 unless marked. Bars use a logarithmic scale so lower prices stay readable. Within each tier, lines are listed by lowest listed price; the tiers are not rankings.

What changes the price within one brand

Comparing one brand's own listings takes the brand name out of the comparison. At Beka Wigs, three wigs photographed in the same cap size differ mainly in cap construction, length and density: an 18-inch silk-top wig at standard density is $1,000, a 28-inch lace-top wig at standard density is $4,800, and a 34-inch lace-top wig at extra-full density is $11,000 [4][30][5]. Other brands show the same pattern: Milano's Divine Luxe lists at $3,325 for 16 inches and $5,200 for 24 inches [20], and Shevy's Platinum lace top at $7,400 for 16 inches and $9,600 for 20 inches [3].

Brands sold through retailers

Jon Renau and Raquel Welch sell through authorised retailers and salons rather than directly on their own websites [38][40]. That means price, sizing help and return terms depend on the retailer you choose, so compare the retailer's policy, not only the brand.

If you are buying because of medical hair loss, the American Cancer Society's guidance on choosing and fitting a wig is a useful, non-commercial starting point [45]. For a step-by-step checklist, read how to compare human-hair wigs.

Limitations of this page

  • No products were bought, handled or worn for this edition.
  • Construction, hair-origin and quality statements are brand-reported.
  • Follea's US site and Ellen Wille's manufacturer site blocked our checks; figures come from other official sites.
  • Prices exclude customization and add-ons; most were rechecked on 17 September 2026, while Ellen Wille, Jon Renau and Raquel Welch prices date from 14 September.
  • Price tiers are our grouping of listed prices. A wig's price reflects hair, construction, length, density, service and brand together, and brands do not publish how much each adds.
  • Photos are Beka Wigs' own and show the brand's styling; we did not reproduce other brands' photos.
